TIRTL – is a non-invasive multipurpose traffic monitoring tool. TIRTL uses infrared beams to detect traffic and provide simultaneous speed, count, lane and class data. The TIRTL may be used as a permanent or portable station.
Unlike other non-intrusive technology, TIRTL does not suffer from vehicle occlusion. It operates over a large number lanes supporting vehicle detection in bi-directional traffic.
TIRTL has communications capability, large memory (up to 8GB) and is internet addressable. Communications can be via an external wireless modem, RS232 (ethernet) or the integrated PSTN modem.
The unit can support a variety of applications for data collection and ITS. ITS applications can be, but are not limited to, speed events and incident detection.
