Aldis Teams with Control Specialists Company
Streamlining GridSmart Sales and Service for the southeastern United States
OAK RIDGE, TN- Aldis Corp., a leader in next generation traffic management systems announced today the addition of Control Specialists Company (CSC) to the Aldis strategic sales channel serving cities and municipalities with a more efficient and cost effective intersection video traffic management solution.
Control Specialists will provide the entire line of Aldis GridSmart traffic solutions including Spectra 360™, designed for intersection traffic management utilizing video tracking, Optima 360™, which adds support for vehicle counting data and pedestrian handling. Ultra 360™ (available in late 2009) will provide complete intersection management solution including such features as vehicle preemption and dilemma zone functionality.

Current GridSmart customers will continue to receive sales and service directly from Aldis with the addition of local support from CSC.

E-ViEWS Safety Systems makes a great 1st Impression!
Recently, E-ViEWS Safety Systems was invited by Walt Disney World of Orlando, Florida to demonstrate our wireless dynamic message sign (DMS)
capabilities. We successfully demonstrated our unique technology at the main intersection of Walt Disney World. Upon learning more about the many other E-ViEWS applications, Walt Disney World representatives excitedly began seeing how we could provide many other solutions. Walt Disney World has one of the largest bus fleets in the country and they immediately saw how E-ViEWS could provide better management of their fleet. They also saw how we could provide better response times for their first responders within the Magic Kingdom. At the conclusion of our two day meeting, Walt Disney World representatives were excited about moving forward with a future build-out of our system. They are also excited about E-ViEWS providing a complete demonstration of our advanced systems solutions. E-ViEWS sees the enormous opportunity potential with Walt Disney World and we will keep you updated as we progress with our demonstration.
The Traffic Group, Inc. is under contract by the Arkansas Highway Transportation Department to complete Volume, Class, and Turning Movement counts. AHTD has recently added Class counts on their freeway interstate system to supplement their Permanent Count Stations. The Traffic Group has had great success in using the TIRTL counters to perform 48 hr class counts along the freeway system where needed. This includes freeway systems up to 3 lanes in each direction. The Highway Department is pleased to receive data in these areas where previous counts could not be collected. We complete over 13 locations a year with two paired units. This year we will also be providing speed with the class data for all interstate level sites. Control Specialists Company announces the successful installation of a TIRTL system in CALTRANS District 10. The system comprises 4 separate pair of TIRTLs which will provide capabilities for data collection and for a vehicle warning system on the approach to Yosemite National Park.
TIRTL, from Control Specialists, was combined with the INFOTEK Wizard modem from INFOTEK Wireless. The entire system was installed and commissioned in about 3 days. By the end of the 3rd day, CALTRANS could access the system and the data via their wireless data network.
The system provided collects and stores data. The data may also be presented in a real time asynchronous data stream. All communications including system status, data download and the real time data occur via the wireless INFOTEK Wizard. The interface between TIRTL and the INFOTEK modem is now a standard offering from Control Specialists.
Control Specialists Company, a provider of data services for over 40 years, has been distributing the TIRTL since 2002 and has a many implementations in the North America.
The TIRTL system features wireless modem capability, solar panel to recharge the 12v batteries and simple installation. The TIRTL uses a transmitter and a receiver which communicate vehicle information. The unit are placed perpendicular to the roadway and the infrared beams are emitted 2-4 inches above the crown of the road.
